Experience
Dominic’s adventure in college admissions advising began in 2016, when he gained valuable experience at CollegeVine, a large national consultancy that helped him understand the landscape of modern college admissions. After a few months of learning the industry fundamentals, he joined Elite Private Tutors/College Shortcuts in 2017, where he took on the challenge of building out their college applications consulting division from the ground up as the Head of Consulting.
In this leadership role, he developed and implemented comprehensive consulting strategies, recruited and trained a team of over 20 consultants and essay specialists, and established best practices for guiding students through complex admissions processes. Together, we helped 100+ students secure admissions to competitive schools throughout the United States, ranging from Ivy League institutions to top liberal arts colleges and prestigious public universities.
Edge
Over the years, we've witnessed a recurring pattern that has shaped our approach to college consulting. We've heard and seen firsthand countless stories of students with seemingly stellar applications – perfect GPAs, outstanding standardized test scores, and impressive extracurricular lists – who still faced unexpected rejections from their reach and target schools.
But every year, without fail, there is a student archetype that consistently punches above their weight to varying degrees.
